Ihnacinse Grady recorded a double-double (12 points and 11 rebounds) to go along with nine assists, and sophomore
Kathryn Gibson tallied 10 points for the Lions, who improved to 8-9 overall and 3-4 in ECC play.
With the game tied at three, the maroon and white ended the quarter on an 11-2 run, led by five points from Prichard, to go ahead 14-5.
Mercy (6-11, 2-6 ECC) opened the second stanza with a 12-2 rally to take a 17-16 advantage. Grady made a three-pointer to put the away team up 19-17. With the score knotted at 19, Molloy scored seven consecutive points to take a 26-19 lead into the break.
The Mavericks opened the third on a 9-0 rally to take a 28-26 lead. The Lions went on a 13-0 run, led by six points from Prichard and five points from Grady, to go up 39-28. The maroon and white led 41-31 at the end of 30 minutes of play.
The home team opened the final quarter with seven straight points to cut the Molloy lead to 41-38. With the score 45-39, Gibson hit a triple and made a free throw to put the visitors up 49-39 as they went on to win 50-40.
The Lions return to action Friday, Jan. 19, when they host Daemen. Tip-off with the Wildcats is slated for 5:00 p.m.
