SEAFORD, N.Y. (Sept. 2, 2017) – The Molloy field hockey team opened the 2017 season with a loss to Southern New Hampshire at Cedar Creek Park.
The Penmen netted two goals in the first eight minutes of play before Helene Servais (Brussels, Belgium) scored off a penalty corner from Jackie Curtin (Londonderry, N.H.) to put Southern New Hampshire up 3-0 at the half.
SNHU added a fourth goal early in the second half to go up 4-0 before scoring in the final two minutes of play to earn a 5-0 victory.

Zoe Norton (Sayville, N.Y.) led the Lions with two shots while seniors
Christina Carbone (East Meadow, N.Y.) and
Jessica Waszczak (Northport, N.Y.) each recorded shots on net. Junior goalkeeper
Tara Byrnes (Huntington, N.Y.) made 10 saves in net.
The maroon and white return to the field tomorrow as they take on Franklin Pierce University at 1:00 p.m. at Cedar Creek Park.
