ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Sept. 16, 2017) – In a record day for the Molloy volleyball team, the Lions improved to 11-1 on the season following victories over Bentley University and Georgian Court University, 3-1, in a tri-match at Quealy Gymnasium.
Highlight performances included redshirt sophomore
Carly Banks (Camas, Wash.) etching her name into Molloy's record book, setting the single-game record at attack percentage (.600) while tying the single-game kills record (28) against Georgian Court.
Sophomore setter
Sophia Smith (Georgetown, Texas) established a new career-high assists total, tallying 57 in the effort over Bentley while junior
Meaghan Carr (Mineola, N.Y.) set back-to-back career-high in digs, totaling 17 against Bentley before topping that with 18 against Georgian Court.

Shannon Wren (Lynbrook, N.Y.) led the way for the maroon and white, each earning 16 kills while sophomore

Banks' record performance led the Lions while sophomore
Devon Hagerstrom (Bethpage, N.Y.) reached double-digits with 11 kills, hitting at .526 in the appearance. Smith and O'Neill led with 52 assists and 21 digs, respectively. Meyer, Smith, and Wren each recorded two service aces for the Lions.
Molloy opens East Coast Conference action on Tuesday (Sept. 19) as they take on LIU Post at 6:00 p.m. at Quealy Gymnasium. The Department of Athletics will be honoring the student-athletes who achieved a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in the Spring 2017 semester during the contest.
