On the Lions:
  • Molloy wraps up the 2017 regular season with a non-conference contest before closing the year with a series against LIU Post.
  • The Lions fell in a doubleheader to St. Thomas Aquinas, 8-7 and 8-7, Sunday (Apr. 30) at the Mitchel Athletic Complex.
  • In game one, seniors Michael Rahn (Sayville, N.Y.) and Anthony Alberghina (Staten Island, N.Y.) drove in two runs each.
  • Junior Angelo Navetta (Staten Island, N.Y.) recorded two hits and drove in three runs, and Rahn added two RBIs in the second game.
  • Junior Elijah Leerdam (Jamaica, N.Y.) is tied for third in the ECC with 31 RBIs, and Navetta is fifth with 29 RBIs.
  • Senior Brian Murphy (Elmont, N.Y.) is second in the nation and leads the conference with 39 stolen bases, is second with 39 runs, and is fifth with a .329 batting average.
  • Junior Shawn Klotsche (Wantagh, N.Y.) is tied for fourth in the league with three saves.
  • Junior pitcher Anthony Catinella (Middle Village, N.Y.) is fifth in the ECC with 53 strikeouts.
Dominican
  • The Chargers come into the game with a 17-24 record and 11-11 mark in the CACC.
  • Dominican topped Molloy, 10-9, March 21.
  • Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.), Jayson Gray (New Rochelle, N.Y.), Max Franzone (Nanuet, N.Y.), and Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J.) recorded two RBIs apiece.
LIU Post
  • The Pioneers enter the contest with a 24-16 overall record and a 14-6 record in the ECC.
  • LIU Post beat Molloy, 3-2, April. 22.
  • Senior Thomas Asbaty (Randolph, N.J.), senior Kenny Daley (Glenwood Landing, N.Y.), and junior Joe Spitaleri (Levittown, N.Y.) drove in one run in the victory.
