Casey Kelly (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) netted a career-high five goals in Molloy men's lacrosse's penultimate game of the regular season. The victory sets the Lions at 9-4 (4-3 East Coast Conference) headed into the final weekend while the Chargers sit at 5-8 (1-6 ECC) with the loss.
The midfielder led off the scoring for the maroon and white, scoring at 11:02. Freshman
Travis Cooksey (Wantagh, N.Y.) fed junior
Tim Steinman (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) to double Molloy's lead, but Evan Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) quickly scored to take the Chargers back within one. Steinman notched a hat trick in the final 30 seconds of the opening quarter, scoring back-to-back markers to put the Lions ahead 4-1.
Dominican would score twice in the second quarter, but headed into the half trailing 8-3 following two goals from Kelly and markers from freshman
Kevin Pastier (Plainview, N.Y.) and junior
Zach Antonette (Seaford, N.Y.).
Molloy would keep the Chargers off the board in the second half, scoring seven unanswered goals. Pastier began the third quarter with an unassisted goal before freshman
Colin Kotarski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) fed Kelly and senior
Jon Camposa (Syosset, N.Y.) Kelly added his fifth of the day before senior
Jack Fagan (Hicksville, N.Y.) found the back of the net on a feed from sophomore
Michael Scheuerer (Farmingdale, N.Y.) to end the third quarter 13-3 in favor of the visitors.

Molloy will host Chestnut Hill College on Saturday (Apr. 29) in the final game of the regular season. Face-off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at the Rockville Centre Sports Complex.
