WATERBURY, CONN. (March 5, 2017) – The women's lacrosse team scored a season-high 21 goals in its 21-3 victory over the Post University Eagles Sunday afternoon at LaMoy Field. The Lions improved to 2-2 with the win.
Junior
Jessica Markowitz (Baldwin, N.Y.) scored a game-high six points (three goals and three assists). Sophomore
Brianna Wilson (Levittown, N.Y.) netted two goals and recorded three assists, and sophomore
Michaela Siegler (Levittown, N.Y.) tallied four goals and an assist in the win.
The Lions started the game on an 8-0 run. Wilson started the scoring. Then, Markowitz scored the next three goals to make it 4-0. Senior

Toni Deren (Greenlaen, N.Y.) scored for Post, which fell to 0-1, to cut the Molloy lead to 8-1. The maroon and white closed the first half with six straight goals, led by two goals from freshman
Kelsey Hammel (West Babylon, N.Y.) to take a 14-1 lead into the break.
The Eagles scored two of the first three goals of the second half to cut the lead to 15-3. Molloy ended the game on a 6-0 run, led by three goals from Siegler, two goals from
Nora Miller (Huntington, N.Y.), and one goal from sophomore
Casie Caiazza (Melville, N.Y.) on its way to a 21-3 win.
The Lions return home to host Caldwell University Sunday (Mar.12). The game is slated to begin at noon.
