ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Mar. 12, 2017) - The Molloy Lions defeated the Caldwell Cougars, 22-4, Sunday afternoon at John. A Darcy Field. The Lions improved to 3-2 overall with the win.
Senior
Alexa Watson (North Massapequa, N.Y.) tallied a game-high seven points (five goals and two assists). Senior
Cooper Sesselman (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and sophomore
Brianna Wilson (Levittown, N.Y.) each scored two goals and three assists for five points. Junior
Jessica Markowitz (Baldwin, N.Y.) netted four goals.
The Lions jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on goals from Sesselman, Watson, and Markowitz. Caldwell (1-1) cut the lead to two, 3-1, after Arden Kassaleh (Pompton Plains, N.J) scored. Markowitz then scored her 100
th career goal to make it 4-1. The goal started an 11-0 run to end the first half. Watson scored four goals, Markowitz scored three goals, Wilson scored two, and sophomore
Cassie Caiazza (Melville, N.Y.) and senior
Laura Rice (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) scored one goal each during the rally, which gave the maroon and white a 14-1 lead at the break.
