East Stroudsburg, Pa (Oct. 24, 2017) – The Molloy women's soccer team fell to the East Stroudsburg Warriors, 2-0, Tuesday evening at Eiler-Martin Stadium. The Lions move to 6-7-2 overall in the loss.
The Warriors (12-3-2) outshot the maroon and white 5-2 in the first half but failed to find the back of the net.
The home team opened the scoring in the 46
th minute on a goal from Monica Wood. ESU added to its lead in the 60
th minute after Nicole Abbott netted a goal, which made it 2-0.
Down two, the Molloy offense, which outshot the Warriors 10-8, created chances but couldn't find its way onto the scoreboard.
Sophomore
Amy D'Eloia (East Northport, N.Y.) registered a team-high three shots, and freshman keeper
Jackie Carty (East Islip, N.Y.) made two saves in the loss.
The Lions return to action Friday, Oct. 27, when they head to play Jefferson. Kickoff with the Rams is slated for 2:30 p.m.
