Zoe Norton (Sayville, N.Y.) powered the offense for Molloy's field hockey team in the final two games of the team's road trip this past weekend.
The Lions first fell to Converse College on Sunday (Oct. 8) in Spartanburg, S.C., 5-1, before dropping a 6-3 decision at Belmont Abbey in Belmont, N.C. on Monday (Oct.9).
Norton scored the lone goal against the Valkyries following a rebound on a shot from sophomore
Lauren Keller (Westbury, N .Y.). Keller led the maroon and white with two of the team's there shots. Junior
Tara Byrnes (Huntington, N.Y.) made 13 stops in the effort.
The following day, the midfielder recorded her first hat trick as a member of the Lions, scoring all three goals on the afternoon, all coming in the second half of play. The first was knocked in the net from mid-air following a rebound from senior
Melissa Fuerst (Selden, N.Y.). Norton then tapped in a pass from freshman
Nadia Elcock (Baldwin, N.Y.) before tallying an unassisted marker in the final minute of play.

Kelly Saronka (Wantagh, N.Y.) each tallied one shot while Norton fired a game-leading six. Byrnes made three saves in net in the first half while sophomore
Amanda Mesas (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) made five in relief in the second frame.
The team returns to action at home on Sunday (Oct. 15) as they face Bellarmine University at Cedar Creek Park at 1:00 p.m.
