BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Jan. 18, 2017) – The women's basketball team picked up their seventh consecutive victory in a thunderous 65-45 win against LIU Post. The Lions now stand at 15-4 on the season and 7-2 in the East Coast Conference.
The maroon and white were led by a career-best 24 points from senior
Aliyah McDonald (Hempstead, N.Y.). The guard went 10-of-16 from the field, 4-of-6 from the foul line, and added six rebounds, a team-high four assists, and two steals on the evening. Graduate student
Symone Kelly (Wyandanch, N.Y.) added 17 points and eight rebounds, while fellow graduate
Kamala Thompson (Selden, N.Y.) chipped in nine points and a game-high nine boards.
Molloy went up early and never looked back,as the first quarter ended with Molloy up 17-9, including seven points from McDonald. The Pioneers came within four points in the second quarter, but the maroon and white ended the half with a three-pointer from freshman

Ihnacinse Grady (Amityville, N.Y.) to go up 35-23. The Lions remained on the prowl through the final 20 minutes of play, never letting LIU Post get closer than nine points. In the final quarter, Molloy posted 18 points, 12 of which came from McDonald.
The Lions return to the court on Saturday as they head to Saint Thomas Aquinas for a crucial in-conference bout with the Spartans at 1:00 p.m.
