Men's Soccer Debuts in 2014 with 1-1 Draw Versus St. Rose

Box Score ALBANY, N.Y. (Sep. 4, 2014) - On Thursday night, the Molloy College men's soccer team kicked off its 2014 campaign with a 1-1 double-overtime tie with the College of Saint Rose in Albany, N.Y.  With the contest scoreless in the 83rd minute, freshman Lucas Munoz (Hicksville, N.Y.) received a cross from the end line, chipping the ball into the lower left corner to give the Lions a 1-0 advantage. Junior Lester Franco (Bay Shore, N.Y.) was responsible for the assist.

Just two minutes later, the Golden Knights found the equalizer when Kledis Capollari scored from 25 yards out.

Saint Rose doubled up Molloy in the shots category (18-9), while the shots on-goal were even at six apiece.

In the net, senior Justin Corke (Valley Stream, N.Y.) stopped five shots for the Lions, as did Colan Balkwell for the Golden Knights.

Head Coach Danny Longo and the Lions will look to grab their first win of the year on Monday, Sep. 8 when they play at Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass.  Game time is slated for 7 p.m.  LiveStats for that contest can be found on the team's schedule page.
