Box Score ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Sep. 17, 2014) - A goal in the 32nd minute was the difference as Caldwell University defeated the Molloy College men's soccer team on Wednesday night, 1-0. Although the Lions dominated in most facets of the game tonight, the Cougars recorded what counted and secured a narrow victory to improve to 3-2 overall. The Lions slipped to 0-3-1 on the year.
The Lions led in corner kicks (7-0), shots (19-5) and shots on-goal (7-3). One of Caldwell's three shots on-goal touched the back of the netting, proving to be the margin the Cougars needed.
Molloy had numerous opportunities, but just was never able to convert. Senior
Hamza Elotmani (Casablance, Morocco) and junior
Anthony Posillico (East Meadow, N.Y.) recorded six and four shots, respectively, while junior
Ibrahima Diarra (Hollis, N.Y.) had three off the bench. Between the pipes, senior netminder
Justin Corke (Valley Stream, N.Y.) made two saves.
