Box Score ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Sept. 16, 2014) - The Molloy College women's volleyball team moved to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in the East Coast Conference as the Lions defeated Queens College at Quealy Gymnasium on Tuesday night, 3-1. With the loss, the Knights dropped to 4-2 on the year and 0-1 in the league.

The Lions took the opening two sets by the same exact score, 25-15. The point differential in the first set was large for the Lions throughout -- usually seven points or more. In set number two, Molloy jumped out to a 6-2 start and never looked back. Earning three of the set's final four points moved Molloy to a two-sets-to-none lead on the night. The Lions led the third set for the majority of the action, albeit by just 2-3 points. However, the Knights secured six of the set's last seven points to grab the 25-23 edging.
Leading 5-3 early on in the fourth set, the Lions rattled off four straight points, the first of a few runs the team made in the final and deciding set of the night. Once the Lions reached an eight-point differential, they didn't let up and secured the 25-19 win.
Juniors
Danielle Williams (Alba, Texas) and
Cassie Palmer (Norwalk, Calif.) posted 11 and 10 kills, respectively, while sophomore
Ally De Kruyf (Norwalk, Calif.) dished out a game-high 38 assists. Freshman
Samira Escobar (Fountain Valley, Calif.) paced the squad with 14 digs, while Palmer had 13.
