Sam Berna (Massapequa, N.Y.) and
Shannon Appel (Rockaway Park, N.Y.) both played their final matches in Maroon and White tonight. With their families by their sides, the pair was honored on Senior Day at Quealy Gymnasium prior to the opening serve.

Billy Corrao's first recruiting class to Molloy. "Sam and Shannon have certainty left their mark on this program," Corrao said.
Appel, the right-side hitter, finished her career in the program's record book for: attack percentage, total blocks and digs. The definitive student-athlete, Appel was also a member of the illustrious 4.0 GPA Club.
Berna finished her career as the program's second all-time kills leader, with over 800 to her name. She also slots in the top 10 in career attack percentage, digs and points.
After a ceremony listing their athletic accomplishments, the Lions' seniors roared out of the gate of the first set. The third and final set witnessed good back-and-forth action, but Molloy would power its way to a three-set sweep, with Berna providing the emphatic match-point kill at 25-18.
