Box Score ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Oct. 5, 2014) - On Sunday morning, the Molloy College women's volleyball team played host to East Coast Conference-opponent Roberts Wesleyan College. After falling to the Redhawks in the first set, 25-17, the Lions evened up the score with a 25-19 victory in set #2. Roberts Wesleyan then flipped that scored around to win the third set. Despite Molloy making a strong comeback at the end of the fourth set, the Redhawks defeated the Lions, 26-24 for the match victory.
With the win, Roberts Wesleyan improved to 8-5 overall and 4-2 in the league, while the Lions slipped to 7-9 on the season (2-4 ECC).
In that fourth set, the Lions trailed 23-19 after the Redhawks scored four-straight points. Molloy then proceeded to go on a 5-0 run to take a 24-23 advantage. That lead was short lived, however, as Roberts Wesleyan found the next three points to win 26-24 in the set, and 3-1 in the contest.
For the match, junior
Danielle Williams (Alba, Texas) led the way with 15 kills, while seniors
Sam Berna (Massapequa, N.Y.) and
Shannon Appel (Rockaway Park, N.Y.) had 13 and 12, respectively. In the assists department, sophomore setter
Ally De Kruyf (Norwalk, Calif.) continued her impressive season with 42 today. Freshman libero
Samira Escobar (Fountain Valley, Calif.) paced the game with 17 digs.

Billy Corrao and the Lions return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 7 when they host Dowling College at 6 p.m.
