Box Score 2 OAKDALE, N.Y. (Sept. 6, 2013) - On Friday afternoon, the Molloy College women's volleyball squad began its 2013 campaign at the Dowling Invitational Tournament. In the Lions' first match of the year, they fell to Bentley University, 3-2. Following that, Molloy was defeated by Southern Connecticut State, 3-1. With the losses, the Lions dropped to 0-2 overall on the young season.
Against Bentley, sophomore outside hitter
Cassie Palmer (Norwalk, Calif.) led the team with 14 kills, while junior
Sam Berna (Massapequa, N.Y.) amassed 12. Junior setter
Kerry MacDonald (Floral Park, N.Y.) recorded 24 assists. Senior
Euginia Anthony (Jamaica, N.Y.) had 19 digs.
The match versus Southern Connecticut saw less kills, as Berna and junior
Megan Lonergan (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) tied for the team-lead with seven. Anthony racked up 28 digs in this affair. Molloy took the first set by a score of 25-20. However, the Lions were then edged out in sets 2 and 3, but only by three points each.

Billy Corrao and the Lions return to the courts tomorrow when they travel to Pennsylvania to battle Philadelphia University beginning at 12:30 p.m.
