Box Score DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Sept. 26, 2013) - On Thursday evening, the Molloy College women's volleyball squad blanked Mercy College, 3-0, to earn the East Coast Conference victory. With the win, the Lions improved to 6-7 overall and 1-0 in the league, while the Mavericks fell to 5-6 on the year and 0-2 in the ECC.
The first set proved to be the most challenging for the Lions as it went over the 25-point mark. Molloy battled and took the opening set, 28-26. The next two went in favor of Molloy as well, by final scores of 25-18.
Sophomore
Katie Gallagher (North Massapequa, N.Y.) smashed 11 kills, while junior
Shannon Appel (Rockaway Park, N.Y.) added seven of her own. Junior
Kerry MacDonald (Floral Park, N.Y.) and freshman
Alley Stefanovski (North Chili, N.Y.) distributed 15 and 13 assists, respectively. Sophomore
Cassie Palmer (Norwalk, Calif.) was responsible for a match-high four service aces, while adding 10 digs. Senior
Euginia Anthony (Jamaica, N.Y.) had a match-best 19 digs.

Billy Corrao and the Lions return to the court on Tuesday, Oct. 1 when they play at ECC-nemesis Queens College in Flushing, N.Y. The opening serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
