Womens' Volleyball Defeated by South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, 3-1

Box Score SAINT LEO, Fla. (Sept. 21, 2013) - On day two of the Saint Leo Tournament, the Molloy College women's volleyball team fell to South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, 3-1 in Saint Leo, Fla. With the win, the Hardrockers improved to 4-8 overall. Following the loss, the Lions dropped to 5-6 on the season.

The Lions lost the first set, 25-17, before winning the second one, 27-25. The Hardrockers earned the wins in sets three and four by scores of, 25-10 and 25-18, respectively.

Molloy was led by junior Sam Berna (Massapequa, N.Y.) who had 12 kills, while freshman Spencer Williams (Los Angeles, Calif.) posted nine. Junior setter Kerry MacDonald (Floral Park, N.Y.) and freshman Alley Stefanovski (North Chili, N.Y.) dished out 19 and 16 assists, respectively. Senior Euginia Anthony (Jamaica, N.Y.) scooped up 20 digs.

Head Coach Billy Corrao and the Lions return to action tonight when they play Columbus State University in their final game of the Saint Leo Tournament. The opening serve is slated for 6:00 p.m. LiveStats will be available at www.MolloyLions.com.
