Box Score ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Dec. 3, 2013) - On Tuesday evening, Molloy College senior forward
John Petrucelli (Hicksville, N.Y.) notched a season-high 32 points, to go along with 13 rebounds, displaying an incredible show of talent. However, it wasn't enough for his team as the Lions dropped a non-conference matchup to Holy Family University, 79-66 at Quealy Gymnasium in Rockville Centre, N.Y. With the win, the Tigers improved to 5-3 overall, while Molloy slipped to 2-5 on the season.
Molloy started the contest with a 12-0 run, with Petrucelli scoring nine of those 12. By the 8:27 mark, the Tigers had fought all the way back and tied the game at 17-all. Holy Family would string together a bunch of points late in the opening stanza to close out the half with the lead, 38-32.
After the intermission, the Tigers picked up right where they left off. After a pair of successul foul shots from Petrucelli, the guests scored 10 straight to grab a 48-34 advantage (17:07 left). Even with a 17-point deficit being the largest of the half, the Lions continued chipping away and eventually withered it down to just seven points (68-61, 3:15 left). The Tigers hit their free throws in the remaining few minutes, though, and the Lions weren't able to get closer than seven.
For the Lions, Petrucelli finished with a game-high and season-high 32 points, in addition to 13 rebounds, one assist, one block and three steals. Junior guard
