Box Score BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Nov. 7, 2013) - On Thursday evening, the Molloy College women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to East Coast Conference-opponent LIU Post in Brookville, N.Y. to slip to 9-17 overall and 3-10 in the league. With the win, the Pioneers improved to 22-7 on the season and 11-4 in the ECC. The final scores of the trio of sets were: 25-16, 25-19, and 25-13.
In the middle set, the Lions were down 23-15, although made it a closer battle than the Pioneers would have liked. Molloy scored four straight points, including a kill from rookie
Spencer Williams (Los Angeles, Calif.), a pair of service aces from sophomore
Cassie Palmer (Norwalk, Calif.), and an attacking error from LIU Post. At 23-19, however, the Pioneers found their final two points on a Molloy setting error and a kill from Susy Cricchi.
For the Lions, freshman
Grace Cookson (Alpine, Calif.) had eight of the team's 14 kills, while rookie
Alley Stefanovski (North Chili, N.Y.) dished out 11 assists and compiled 10 digs. Palmer had three service aces.
For the Pioneers, Geony Fisher, Makamae Namahoe and Cricchi posted nine kills each, while Lulu Centro distributed 27 assists. Rachel Ringor and Namahoe combined for 30 digs, while Cricchi recorded four blocks.
