Costabile's Goal Propels Men's Soccer to 1-0 Victory Over Holy Family

Box Score ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Oct. 9, 2013) - Molloy College senior midfielder Anthony Costabile (Baldwin, N.Y.) scored in the 59th minute to give the Lions' men's soccer team a 1-0 victory over non-league opponent Holy Family University at the Dean G. Skelos Sports Complex on Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Lions improved to 4-5-2 overall, while the Tigers slipped to 4-6-1 on the season.

Molloy fired off a bevy of shots with five of 13 coming on goal. Senior midfielder Dan Brown (Queens, N.Y.) paced the team with four shots (two on goal), while Costabile and senior forward/midfielder Mario Gagliano (Manhasset, N.Y.) notched three shots each. The Lions also held the edge in corner kicks, 8-2.

In net, junior goalkeeper Justin Corke (Valley Stream, N.Y.) stopped three shots for the Lions, while his counterpart Richard Ongaro made four saves for the Tigers.

Head Coach Danny Longo and the Lions return to action on Saturday, Oct. 12 when they travel to New Jersey to take on Caldwell College in another non-conference matchup. The opening kickoff is slated for 2 p.m.
