Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Oct. 19, 2013) - The Molloy College women's volleyball squad boarded a bus from Rockville Centre for the lengthy ride up to Rochester, N.Y. for a two-game East Coast Conference-road trip. On Saturday, the Lions played in their first game of the trip as they defeated Roberts Wesleyan College, 3-2 to improve to 9-10 overall and 3-3 in the league. With the loss, the Redhawks slipped to 7-9 on the season and 2-6 in the ECC.
Molloy took the opening two sets (25-12, 25-22), before Roberts Wesleyan earned wins in sets number three and four (25-16, 25-21). In the deciding fifth set, the Lions jumped out to a 4-0 lead, which was followed by a set-tying four straight points from the Redhawks. The two squads traded points back and forth, with no team leading by more than three points. Tied at 17-17, a kill from rookie
Alley Stefanovski (North Chili, N.Y.) and a Redhawks' attacking error sealed the match triumph for the Lions.
For Molloy, junior
Sam Berna (Massapequa, N.Y.) tied for the match-high with 16 kills, while sophomore
Cassie Palmer (Norwalk, Calif.) had 15. Stefanovski dished out 47 assists, while freshman
Grace Cookson (Alpine, Calif.) recorded 18 digs to lead the Lions.

Billy Corrao and the Lions return to the court tomorrow when they complete their road trip and do battle with new ECC-opponent Daemen College in Amherst, N.Y. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m.
