Steven Woessner joined the women's volleyball coaching staff during the 2020-21 academic year before being elevated to Head Coach ahead of the 2025 season.
In his time as an assistant working primarily with the middle blockers, the Lions saw 50 wins and appeared in three East Coast Conference Tournaments and one NCAA Regional Tournament.
Prior to joining the maroon and white, Woessner served as a head coach with the Academy Volleyball Club, including most recently leading the 17U team to qualify for the Open Division of the Boys Junior National Championship in 2021. He also spent one season as an assistant with Connetquot High School (2019) and his alma mater SUNY New Paltz (2018).
While a student-athlete at New Paltz, Woessner was an accomplished middle blocker, earning All-UVC all four seasons and three All-American selections from the American Volleyball Coaches Association. In his time with the team, the Hawks program won two UVC Championships and took home the National Championship in his junior season. As a senior, he was selected for the Floyd Patterson Award, given to the Most Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year.
