Kristen Cassidy was named the Head Coach of the women's tennis team ahead of the 2024 season, previously spending one year as an assistant with the Lions.
A stand-out student-athlete at NCAA Division III's Moravian University, Cassidy earned All-Landmark Conference selections twice. In three seasons with the Greyhounds (losing 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic), she put up a singles record of 25-7 and 23-9 in doubles competition. In her tenure with Moravian, the team appeared in the NCAA Tournament in both 2019 and 2021 and earned two Landmark Conference Champions.
A leader on and off the court, Cassidy was a two-time captain, the 2021 team MVP, a four-year ITA Scholar-Athlete, and a Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society member. Graduating with degrees in both political science and sociology, Cassidy was a member of the respective national honor societies for both programs.
No stranger to athletics, her mother, Leslie, is a member of the Stony Brook University Athletic Hall of Fame and went on to play professional basketball in Europe.
Cassidy serves as the league director, assistant manager, and part-time teaching pro at Carefree Racquet Club in Merrick. She resides in Wantagh, New York.
