Bonagura joined the women's lacrosse coaching staff ahead of the 2018 season and also serves as the Head Field Hockey Coach for the Lions.
Bonagura has over a decade of experience coaching at the collegiate level across all three divisions. No stranger to Molloy women's lacrosse, she worked as an assistant with the program for the 2006 season before returning to her alma mater, LIU Post, in 2007. In 2009, Bonagura was an assistant of the inaugural women's lacrosse team at Queens College before being promoted to Head Coach in 2011.
After three straight winning seasons, the Rockville Centre native was named the Head Coach of Whittier College in California before eventually returning to Long Island as a member of national powerhouse Stony Brook University's coaching staff.
A standout student-athlete, Bonagura was a four-time All-American, including being named the IWLCA's Attacker of the Year in 2004 before also being nominated for the prestigious Tewaaraton Award, given to the most outstanding American college lacrosse player, and the Honda Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year, awarded to the best collegiate female athlete in each of the NCAA's sports. The two-time NCAA Division II Statistical Champion (points per game), helped lead the Pioneers to a National Championship in 2001.
She was inducted into the LIU Post Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013 for her accomplishments in both field hockey and lacrosse and was inducted into the Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2016.
