Marissa Brown

    Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach

Brown joined the women's lacrosse program ahead of the 2021 season. 

An Islip native, Brown returns to Long Island after spending the 2019-2020 year in Colorado Springs, Colorado with Pine Creek High School and Blue Label Lacrosse. Prior to that, she spent three seasons as the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Southwestern University (DIII) in Georgetown, Texas, helping develop the team from its beginnings, joining the staff in just its second season of competition, where she primarily focused on the defense. 

A captain and four-year starting midfielder at local Adelphi University, Brown helped the team to three consecutive NCAA Division II National Championships (2009-11). She was recognized as an All-American and All-Region from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association as a senior, and was selected as All-Conference by the Northeast-10 in three straight seasons.

Brown currently resides in Port Washington with her husband and their son. Brown’s father, Ray Mills is an inductee of the Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Foundation Hall of Fame. Her sister, Felicia, also played at Adelphi and is a two-time national champion and two-time All-American
