Carole Gerrity has been a staple of the Molloy community for over 60 years.
A member of Molloy College's second graduating class (B.S. Education, 1960), Gerrity returned to her alma mater in 1968 as a full-time professor in the Education Department until 2013. A Professor Emeritus, she still continues to serve the Molloy education students as the Coordinator of the Education Department Computer Lab.
Gerrity joined the athletic department in 1969, when she was a volunteer instructor for the inaugural equestrian team, helping the program to is first home show in 1971. After the inaugural members of the team's graduation, the team was disbanded.
In 1974, Gerrity once again took the reins of the club with a new group of riders and has consistently served in this role ever since, developing riders to appearances at the regional. zone, and national level on multiple occasions. In 1980, she was recognized as the Molloy Coach of the Year.
For her dedication and success, Gerrity was inducted into the Molloy Department of Athletics Hall of Fame. She has also been the recipient of many Molloy honors including the Veritas Medal (1986) as an outstanding alumnus, the Faculty Council Award (1985, 2003) for outstanding contribution to the faculty, the Distinguished Service Award (1988), the Twenty-Five Year Service Award (1993), and the Outstanding Faculty Award (1999).
Gerrity is most proud of watching riders develop over the years and improve in the show ring.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and rooting for the New York Mets and Jets.
