Mike Callahan

    Pitching Coach

Mike Callahan joined the Molloy baseball coaching staff as a pitching coach for the 2008 season. As of 2018, he has guided the program to 285 wins, four 30-plus win seasons, and ten East Coast Conference playoff appearances. In 2016, the team broke program history, tying a program-best 31 wins and earning an at-large bid to the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament.  

Callahan has coached 14 pitchers to 17 All-ECC team selections. Additionally, three were named to All-Region teams and pitcher Chuck Fontana was named the program’s first Daktronics All-American in 2011 under Callahan’s coaching. In 2015, Shea Spitzbarth signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization.

In addition to the Molloy, Callahan serves as the coach for the 17-and-under Long Island Whalers baseball team and volunteers his time as an assistant football coach at Malverne High School. Callahan played baseball for the Mules, earaning All-County and Conference MVP honors in 1992 and was inducted into the Malverne Hall of Fame in 2008.

After resigning as the Principal of AMC Transfers following a 14-year career, Callahan moved on to the Advisory Board at the DelSalle School in Freeport, N.Y., a Catholic elementary school for underprivileged students. 

Callahan currently resides in Wantagh, N.Y., with his wife, Melissa, and two children, Mike Jr. and Leanna Rose.
