Michael Cruz joined the Lions' coaching staff in 2019. 

Cruz was an assistant coach at Nassau Community College from 208-19. Prior to his time with the Lions, he was the hitting and outfield coach at SUNY Oneonta from 2016-17. 

The Levittown, N.Y. native played two years at Nassau, where he  was a Region XV Champion (2012 & 2013) and was on the  Region XV All-Tournament Team (2013).Cruz played two seasons at SUNY Oneonta.

In the summer of 2019, Cruz was an assistant coach with the Hampton Aviators, which won the Hampton League title.
