Alex Brosnan

Alex Brosnan joined the Molloy coaching staff prior to the 2018 season.

The Farmingdale, N.Y. native started his playing career at Nassau Community College. In 2013, he earned Regional Pitcher of Year, Honorable Mention All-American, Region XV All-Tournament Team, and NJCAA World Series All-Tournament Team honors. After Nassau, Brosnan transferred to Molloy College, where he graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. With the Lions, he was a captain of the baseball team in 2015 and was named Second Team All-East Coast Conference. The pitcher finished top-10 in career complete games and ERA, first in single-season k/9, and second in single-season complete games.  

After Graduation, he played professionally with the Quebec Capitales in the Can-Am League. 

Following his playing career, Brosnan joined the coaching staff at Nassau Community College in 2016 and worked with the pitchers, where he was in charge of overseeing the recruitment of players and helped players move on to Division II and Division III schools. In the summer of 2016, he was an assistant coach of the Elite Body Armor Titans and helped oversee the recruitment of 15 Division I baseball players to schools including Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, George Washington, Michigan and Stony Brook amongst others, and also produced two draft picks in the 2017 MLB draft.  In the summer of 2017, Brosnan was the Pitching Coach of the Westhampton Aviators in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League.  The Aviators tied the league record for single-season wins, advanced to the championship series, had eight all-stars, highlighted by the league MVP, and four pitchers selected to First and Second Team honors. The team also had two of the top-10 prospects, named by Baseball America, and had one 2017 draft pick.
