Carla Campagna '12

10740A tradition of excellence has come to be expected of the Molloy softball program, winning four East Coast Conference Championships in the past eight years and appearing in three NCAA National Championship tournaments. It can be said that the offensive power of Carla Campagna helped to ignite the spark.

For four straight seasons, Campagna led the team in home runs while leading the Lions in runs batted in, total bases, and walks three out of four years. The first baseman's name tops the record book in runs batted in (207), total bases (442), home runs (44), putouts (1147), and fielding percentage (.994) while ranking in the top-five at Molloy in walks (76, 2nd), slugging percentage (.631, 4th), and hits (256, 4th).

As a sophomore, Campagna was a member of the program's first-ever team to make it to the Division II National Championship, recording the lone RBI for Molloy in the appearance. She ranked fifth in the nation in difficulty to strike out and 21st in home runs. The following season, Campagna was selected as Player of the Year by both the ECC and Daktronics, ranking 17th in the nation in RBI per game.

Campagna graduated with a .366 career batting average, scoring 105 runs with 256 hits including 201 RBI. In total, she accumulated 13 postseason awards, including two Player of the Year laurels and being selected as a Third Team All-American by Daktronics.
