Diane Drescher '91

Softball
Inducted: October 12, 2007


Diane Drescher attended Molloy College on a softball scholarship after a stellar career at Martin Van Buren High School.  Diane was a major contributor to the softball program and an excellent hitter, finishing her career in the top ten of several single season and career offensive categories.  She graduated in 1991 with a bachelor of science degree in Accounting. 
 
After graduation, Diane worked as an office manager for Limberg Automotive where she remained for eight years before assuming the position of Accounts Receivable Supervisor for Colliers ABR in Manhattan.  Diane served briefly as a senior analyst for Goldman Sachs and Company before she joined Time Incorporated, where she is currently the Finance Manager for the world renowned Time magazine.
 
Diane’s athletic achievements include the following Molloy College career and season records: fourth in career sacrifice hits (15), fifth in single season home runs (5) and runs batted in (48), eighth in career on base percentage (.405), career runs batted in (77), career stolen bases (41) and single season slugging percentage (.769), ninth in career triples (10) and tenth in career batting average (.328).  In her final campaign she led the team in hits, doubles, triples, home runs, and runs batted in and was second in runs scored and stolen bases.  Diane was nationally ranked second in runs batted in, fifteenth in home runs and twenty-first in batting average in her final season of 1991.
 
Diane’s love for softball has continued since graduation.  She participates in many recreational leagues and has competed in many tournaments where she has earned MVP awards.  In her free time, Diane enjoys quality time with her family, especially her three nieces.
