Rindge, N.H. – The Molloy women's soccer team matched up with the 20
th-ranked Ravens of Franklin Pierce Wednesday afternoon, falling, 2-0, at Sodexo Field. The Lions move to 2-4-1 on the season, while the Ravens improve to 5-2.
How it Happened
- The early going was defensively dominate on both sides, as neither team registered a shot in the opening 15 minutes.
- Franklin Pierce generated the contest's first shot in the 18th minute from Mikayla Horton, but senior goalkeeper Elyse Muñoz made a smooth save.
- Through the next 19 minutes, the home team generated 10 shots, but only two would land on target, both of which were saved by Muñoz.
- Molloy's offense was held in check in the first half, totaling just two shots from senior Isabella Muro. Neither attempt would land on target, sending the contest into halftime, scoreless.
- The cardinal and white looked to jump out to a hot start in the second half, as Muro threatened with a chance in the 50th minute that was saved by Ravens goalkeeper Jess LaCroix.
- The Ravens would find the back of the net 1:14 later as Horton would sneak one past Muñoz to take a 1-0 lead.
