Kayla Balsamo recorded a career-best 16 saves in the 6-0 loss. The Lions move to 1-2 on the season, while the Panthers improve to 1-1.
How it Happened
- Adelphi tested the Lions in the opening minute with a shot from Kelly Johnson, but Balsamo was there to make the save. The sophomore came up with another save just a minute later to keep the game scoreless.
- Johnson struck in the fourth minute, finishing off a pass from Jena Geels to put the Panthers ahead 1-0.
- The visitors doubled the lead 10 minutes later, taking a 2-0 advantage into the second quarter.
- The Lions earned two corner chances late in the second frame but could not convert on the opportunity before halftime.
