Sparkill, N.Y. – The softball team ended the regular season on a positive note, taking the second game of a doubleheader against St. Thomas Aquinas College this afternoon, 7-6. Molloy fell in the first game, 3-2, to end 2025 with a record of 19-29 overall and 11-9 in East Coast Conference play. STAC ends the regular season at 28-17 (16-4 ECC).
Game One: STAC 3, Molloy 2
How it Happened
- The Spartans struck first with a two-run home run to left center by Eliana Raposo in the first inning.
- Senior pitcher Natalie Moussa allowed just one hit through the next three innings, striking out two.
- In the top of the fourth, Moussa sparked the offense with a lead off single up the middle. She was immediately followed by sophomore Stevie Dabbadie, who sent the ball over the left field fence to knot the score at two.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Elyse Marcano opened the frame with a single up the middle. After a ground out by Raposo moved her into scoring position, Sofia Marella came through with an RBI single to center field, putting St. Thomas Aquinas ahead 3-2.
- The Spartans' defense held strong, limiting the Lions to just two hits over the final two innings to secure the win.

Game Two: Molloy 7, STAC 6
How it Happened
- After a scoreless first inning, the Spartans struck first, plating three runs in the bottom of the second. Two walks set the table before Olivia Leon delivered an RBI single to left center. A sacrifice bunt by Maristella Coira moved runners into scoring position, and Marcano followed with a bases-clearing double to give the Spartans an early 3-0 lead.
- Dabbadie entered the circle in the third and retired the side in order before allowing just one hit in the fourth to keep the Lions within striking distance.
- In the top of the fifth, redshirt freshman Alexis Montgomery drew a lead off walk, and McGurk followed with a single through the left side. Junior Mae Savage then drove in the Lions' first run with an RBI single to right field.
- Dabbadie reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Savage to move up and McGurk to score, trimming the deficit to one. Freshman pinch hitter Hannah Definis then tied the game at three with an infield RBI single.
- St. Thomas Aquinas quickly responded in the bottom half of the inning. Marcano led off with a single, stole second, and moved to third on another sacrifice bunt by Coira before scoring on a wild pitch to claim a 4-3 advantage.
- In the top of the seventh, Moussa singled up the middle, Dabbadie was hit by a pitch, and sophomore Mariah Cepeda loaded the bases with an infield single.
- Sophomore Amaya Page reached on an error that brought in two runs before freshman Casey Kissinger's RBI single plated another run. Kissinger advanced to second on another fielding error, allowing Page to score and extend the Lions' lead to 7-4.
- The Spartans rallied in the bottom of the seventh, scoring twice on a double steal and a single from Coira to come within one, 7-6. Moussa returned to the circle in relief. After a double to Raposo threatened to plate the tying run, left fielder Montgomery quickly got the ball into Kissinger at short stop, who was able to throw out Coira with a toss to Definis at home plate. Moussa induced a fly out in the next at bat to pick up the save.
