Pleasantville, N.Y. – The Molloy baseball team fell to the Setters of Pace University, 14-4, Tuesday afternoon at Peter X. Finerty Field. The Lions move to 22-16 on the campaign, while the Setters improve to 20-16.
How It Happened
- Pace started the scoring in the second with an rbi single to go in front, 1-0.
- After being held off the scoreboard in the opening three innings, Molloy put together a four-run top of fourth to take a 4-1 lead. The scoring began with junior Jack Coogan driving in a run with a single and was followed by sophomore Anthony Marsillo who plated a run off a bases loaded hit by pitch.
- Sophomore Joe Burriesci stepped up next and collected a sacrifice fly and sophomore Brian Sanchez capped the inning scoring following a wild pitch.
- The Setters used the home run ball, totaling three solo home runs between the fourth and fifth inning to knot the contest at four and would take the lead, 5-4, after a sacrifice fly to end the fifth inning.
- The home team would score nine unanswered runs to close out the contest ahead, 14-4.
