Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The women's basketball team fell to the 21st ranked Falcons of Bentley University this afternoon, 69-50. The loss sets the Lions at 2-7 on the season while Bentley improves to 4-1.
How it Happened
- The Falcons opened the contest on a run of seven points before a layup from senior Colleen McCullagh put Molloy on the board.
- Another layup up from McCullagh paired with a basket from freshman Sharmeela Ugbogbo rounded out the Lions' scoring in the opening frame but trailed 16-6 after 10 minutes.
- Molloy would shoot 50 percent from the field in the second frame with McCullagh adding nine more points to her stat line to go with a three-pointer from sophomore Emma Poland and a layup from senior Rosa Rizzitelli.
- The turnover battle would not be in the Lions' favor, however, handing the Falcons the ball an extra eight times to help them to a 41-20 lead at the halftime break.
- Led by eight points from McCullagh, Molloy won the scoreboard in the third quarter, scoring 15 points and shooting 50 percent from the field. Bentley maintained its advantage, however, and led 53-35 headed into the final 10 minutes of play.
- Senior Sophia Yearwood netted seven points in the fourth frame to lead the Lions, who could not overcome the early deficit.

- McCullagh led all scorers with 24 points and topped the Lions with eight rebounds.
- Yearwood netted eight points followed by seven from Rizzitelli.
- Rizzitelli and sophomore Iris Hoffman each had four rebounds with Rizzitelli adding two steals and Hoffman leading with five assists.
