Howell Township, N.J. – The Molloy women's bowling team competed at the Garden State Classic hosted by Monmouth University from Friday, November 21 through Sunday, November 23. After 13 qualifying matches and one baker bracket game, the cardinal and white went 8-5 on the weekend while collecting 10,602 pins to average 176.7
Day One – Baker Format
- The Lions began Friday afternoon taking down Morgan State, 865-817.
- Molloy would fall in its next two matches to Mount Saint Mary's, 919-824, and Adelphi, 919-875.
- The keglers concluded Friday topping Holy Family, 822-743, and host Monmouth, 914-883, to finish 3-2 to place ninth.
Day Two – Traditional Format
- Saturday afternoon began with a position round with Molloy defeating LIU, 940-835, in a baker style match.
- The tournament would switch to traditional format thereafter as the cardinal and white would pick up a 880-861 triumph over Dominican.
- After falling to FDU, 1,086-942, the keglers would respond with a 883-867 victory over LIU heading into the final match of the day.
- Molloy would match up with Felician to end Saturday and would fall to the Golden Falcons, 973-921, moving up to eighth place with a 6-4 record.
- Senior Megan Guarascio led the Lions in traditional play, rolling a 756 four-game series to average 189 placing 18th overall. Sophomore Michaela Palumbo finished in 25th, rolling a 729 four-game set en route to averaging 182.25.
Day Three
- Sunday was set for a pair of traditional format matches before movie to bracket baker play.
- Molloy started falling to Bryant, 1,017-890, before defeating Bowie State, 846-819, setting up a matchup with LIU in bracket baker.
- In the final match of the tournament, the Lions topped the Sharks, 4-0, to secure a ninth-place finish.
