Debtford, N.J. – The Molloy women's bowling team kicked off the new season at the Bud Whitman Invitational hosted by Chestnut Hill Saturday afternoon. Through five traditional matches, the Lions went 3-2 totaling 4,166 pins to average 166.
How it Happened
- The cardinal and white began the afternoon falling to FDU, 839-746.
- Molloy would then rally off two consecutive victories in matches two and three, topping Coppin State, 889-792, and Alvernia, 848-819.
- In the victory over Coppin State, senior Emily Kulkarni led the way rolling a high game of 199. Against Alvernia, sophomore Michaela Palumbo helped guide the squad collecting a 191 game.
- After falling to Sacred Heart, 920-832, in match four, the Lions concluded the day with a 851-780 triumph over Felician.
- Kulkarni stood out for Molloy on the afternoon, finishing sixth overall of 66 bowlers. The senior rolled a 935 five-game set to average 187 on the afternoon, highlighted by a high-game of 202 against Felician.
