Staten Island, N.Y. – The Molloy women's bowling team earned silver Sunday afternoon at the Seahawk Invite hosted by Wagner College at Rabs Country Lanes. Through five Baker games, the Lions finished 4-1 totaling 4,681 pins.
How It Happened
- The cardinal and white matched with LIU in the afternoon's first match. Molloy went into the fifth game of the first match down 18, 686-668, but rallied to clinch the victory with a 30 pin triumph to beat the Sharks, 836-824.
- In match two the keglers faced Monmouth in a shootout, but the Hawks would put together four games of over 200 pins to defeat the Lions, 1,070-974.
- Molloy answered in match three against host Wagner, topping the Seahawks 1,041-857, a match that featured four games of over 200 pins from the Lions.
- The Lions would draw the Sharks again in match four, and the match would once again come down to the fifth frame. Molloy topped LIU 208-202 in the final game to take the match, 892-881.
- In the final game of the tournament, the keglers faced off against the Sharks for a third time in the afternoon. The Lions would not leave any question in the match, defeating the Sharks 938-863 to finish in second-place.
