Garden City, N.Y.- The 2024 softball season came to an end in the NCAA East Sub-Regional Final this afternoon as the sixth-seeded Lions fell to the second-seeded Panthers of Adelphi University, 4-1. Molloy ends the season with a record of 32-24. 

How it Happened

• Adelphi got on the board first with an RBI double to right center from Courtney Wengryn in the top of the second inning.
• A lead-off single from Zee Zee Shreter and back-to-back sacrifice bunts set up Faith Camilleri for an RBI single in the third inning to double the lead.
• The cardinal and white responded in the home half of the inning. Senior Chrissie Huhn got things started with a double to left center field before scoring on a bunt single from graduate student Steph Conrade, cutting the deficit in half. 
• The Panthers plated two runs in the fifth inning, taking advantage of three walks from the Molloy pitching staff, to make it 4-1.
• Junior Natalie Moussa entered the game in relief with bases loaded in the fifth and managed to escape the jam by striking out one batter and forcing a fly out.
• The designated home team on the scoreboard, sophomore Mae Savage led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a single, but Lindsey Hibbs would strike out two batters before forcing a foul out to end the game.

Top Performances

• Savage led the team going 2-for-3 at the plate.
• Conrade, Dabbadie, and Huhn each contributed one hit, with Conrade driving in one run.
• Dabbadie fanned two batters in the start.
• Moussa struck out one batter in relief.
