Buffalo, N.Y.- The softball team swept D'Youville in an East Coast Conference doubleheader this afternoon, dominating with a 13-1 win in five innings in game one before sealing the day with a 6-1 decision in game two. The Lions improve to 27-19 (15-3 ECC) and the Saints drop to 9-33 (3-17 ECC).
Game One: Molloy 13, D'Youville 1
How it Happened
- The Lions started the first inning off with a walk to graduate student Chrissie Huhn, a single to graduate student Steph Conrade and a walk to graduate student Alex Burns to load the bases.
- Graduate student Steph Conrade singled to center field, advancing on the throw.
- Walks in the following at bats to freshman Stevie Dabbadie and sophomore Mae Savage gave the visitors a 2-0 lead.
- In the top of the second inning, Huhn singled to center field before stealing second base.
- Burns followed with a single to second base to send Huhn to third.
- Dabbadie doubled the score with a two-run double to right center.
- Back-to-back doubles for junior Cheralyn Dusharme and Savage in the third extended the lead to 5-0.
- A walk to sophomore Emily McGurk coupled with an infield from Huhn plated Savage.
- Conrade took a hit by pitch to load the bases.
- Dabbadie struck out swinging but was able to reach on a passed ball, scoring McGurk to give Molloy a commanding 7-0 lead.

How it Happened
- After two scoreless innings of play, Bachman opened the third frame by reaching first on an error and advancing to second on Conrade's sacrifice bunt.
- Bachman scored on Burns' single to left field, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead.
- The score would stand until the fifth inning, with a lead-off triple setting the table for an RBI fielder's choice for McGurk to double the lead.
- Bachman walked, advancing McGurk to second before Huhn's triple to right center brought both runners home, putting the Lions ahead 4-0.
- Burns walked, stealing second and advancing to third on a throwing error, but was subsequently tagged out at home. However, Huhn was still able to score, tacking on another run for the visiting team.
- A pair of walks to Dabaddie and senior Katie Hand, coupled with singles from Dusharme and Savage widened the lead for Molloy to 6-0.
- A walk and two consecutive singles for the Saints cut the deficit to five in the bottom of the sixth inning.
- The Molloy defense held D'Youville to just one hit in the bottom of the seventh inning to secure the doubleheader sweep.
