Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's basketball team picked up a 84-61 victory over The University of Puerto Rico Bayamon Tuesday afternoon on Bob Houlihan Court. The Lions improve to 3-3 on the campaign.
How it Happened
- The Lions opened the contest on a 9-4 run in the first 2:19 of the contest.
- The cardinal and white were led by senior Samantha Muller who netted 12 of the squad's 27 points in the opening quarter, taking a 27-14 lead into the second stanza.
- In the second quarter, Molloy opened up a 16-point lead, 34-18, following a three-point basket from junior Sophia Yearwood with under seven minutes to go in the first half.
- Molloy would open up a lead as large as 19, 43-24, in the second quarter before entering halftime ahead, 43-30.
- In the third quarter, the Lions returned to its 19-point advantage, 54-35, after a free throw from Yearwood.
- The home team would open its largest lead of the contest, 66-37, in the third quarter after freshman Jianna Davnerio nailed a three-point shot and would take a 66-39 advantage into the final quarter.
- The Lions would shoot 50 percent in the final stanza to secure the victory, 84-61.

- Muller netted a game-high 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
- Junior Casey Campo totaled a career-high 14 points and secured nine rebounds.
