Women’s Bowling Appears at the Garden State Classic

Howell N.J. – Bowling alongside some of the country's best, the Molloy women's bowling team competed at the Garden State Classic, hosted by Monmouth University at Howell Lanes. The Lions placed 18th overall, with a record of 2-11 over the course of the three-day tournament that ran from Friday, November 22 through Sunday, November 24.
 
Day One – Baker
  • The Lions drew a tough task on day one, facing off against five top-25 programs in baker play.
  • Molloy went 0-5 Friday afternoon beginning the day against 10th ranked Duquesne, falling to the Dukes, 918-789.
  • The cardinal and white would take on 20th ranked FDU in match two, and hung with the Knights but would fall, 862-840.
  • The keglers finished the day with losses to 25th ranked Niagara (1043-902), third-ranked Youngstown State (1053-799), and ninth-ranked Maryville (1055-827). 
Day Two – Tradtional
  • Saturday would not start much easier for the Lions as they matched up with the top team in the country Jacksonville State, falling to the Gamecocks, 1002-880.
  • In match two, Molloy would take on fourth-ranked Vanderbilt falling to the Commodores, 981-817.
  • Match three would see the Lions drop a match to Wilmington, 903-782.
  • The cardinal and white picked up its first win of the weekend against Dominican, 840-788, before falling to Bryant to end day two, 952-836.
Day Three- Best-of-Seven Baker
  • On the final day of the tournament, Molloy opened bracket play against Coppin State, taking down the Lady Eagles, 4-0, with a high baker game of 200 In game four.
  • The Lions would fall to Bryant, 4-0, to conclude the tournament for an 18th-place finish.

Molloy will have some time off the lanes to prepare for the Keystone Classic in Allentown, Pennsylvania Wednesday, December 18 through Thursday, December 19.
