The men's rugby team returned to action for the 2023-24 season on Sunday, competing in three sevens-style matches at Montclair State University.
Game One: Molloy 43, Montclair 0
- Molloy scored tries in the third, sixth, seventh, eighth, 10th, and 11th minutes on the efforts of Sal Russo, David Smith, and Joe Rodriguez. Billy Rachek also scored a penalty try in the first minute of play.
- The score was rounded out by three good conversion kicks from Patrick Whelan.
Game Two: Molloy 7, Drew 5
- Molloy's lone points came on a penalty try from Whelan in the third minute.
Game 3: Molloy 19, Montclair 5
- Jeremy Buchalter found the try zone twice for the Lions as well as another try from Rodriguez.
- Whelan went 2-for-3 on conversions.
