Millersville, Pa. – The field hockey team was defeated by the No. 5 Millersville Marauder's on Sunday, 5-0. Millersville improved to 2-1 and Molloy sat at 0-3.
The field hockey program paired with the Millersville Chief of Police to honor the lives effected by the September 11
th attacks, including the courageous efforts of John Benvengo and Danielle Perez, parents of
Alyssa Benvengo and
Lauren Brodowsky, respectively.
How it Happened
- The Lions kept the Marauder's off the board for the first 15 minutes of play, including three saves from junior goalie Kelsey Price.
- Millersville scored four times in the second quarter to take a 4-0 lead into halftime.
- Molloy's defense stood tall in the third quarter, including two defensive saves from sophomore Lizzy Hedgecock.
- The home team added a final goal in the final four minutes to round out the score.
Top Performances
- Brodowsky, Benvengo, and sophomore Madi Stuckart each recorded a shot.
- Hedgecock had a career-high two defensive saves.
- Price made seven saves in net.
