Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The top-seeded softball team kicked off the East Coast Conference Championship by hosting fourth-seeded Queens College, falling to the Knights 9-0 from Bob Klein Field. Molloy sits at 29-20 on the season while Queens improved to 11-32.
How it Happened
- A defensive miscue from Molloy allowed Cyarra Alvarado to advance into scoring position in the first inning before being driven in on a double from Amanda Baez.
- The Knights added three runs in the third inning on a single from Ann Grimshaw and a double from Jenny Murphy to take a 4-0 lead.
- The top of the seventh saw five runs on a walk, hit by pitch, and three singles to set the score at 9-0.
- Graduate student Alex Burns accounted for two of Molloy's three hits on the afternoon.
