Offense Shines in Women's Lacrosse Victory Over Davis & Elkins

Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The women's lacrosse team led from the opening minute of this evening's 17-2 victory over Davis & Elkins College from the RVC Sports Complex, improving to 2-3 on the season.

How it Happened
  • Molloy took a 5-0 lead in the first quarter, with five different goal scorers in Megan Rugolo, Amanda Weber, Alexa Amorison, Hailey Dazzo, and Alyssa Licata
  • The scoring run continued for the next 13 minutes of action, taking a 10-0 lead before the Senators got on the board in the final two minutes of the first half.
  • The Lions put up another shutout quarter in the third, once again having five separate goal scorers find the back of the net. 
  • The visitors led off the final quarter with a goal before Molloy rounded out the final four minutes with two goals to win, 17-2.
Top Performances
  • Rugolo led with five points on one goal and four assists while adding two ground balls, one caused turnover, and one draw control.
  • Amorison had four points on two goals and two assists.
  • Weber (three goals) and Joanna Mauceri (two goals, one assist) tallied three points apiece with Weber adding three ground balls and Mauceri controlling seven draws.
  • Kelly Bergersen and Jamie Maddaluno each scored two goals with the Lions offense being rounded out with goals from Dazzo, Licata, Brooke DiFede, Sofia Quitoni, and Lucy Emptage. Jessica Vieni and Brenna Signorelli each chipped in an assist.
  • Carly Howell led the team with four ground balls and two caused turnovers. 
  • Mauceri, Quitoni, Vieni, Signorelli each forced a turnover as well.
