Field Hockey Falls in Defensive Battle At Franklin Pierce

Box Score Rindge, N.H. – The field hockey team had a defensive bout with Franklin Pierce, playing to a 1-0 decision in favor of the Ravens. The Lions fall to 0-8  (0-6 NE10) and Franklin Pierce improved to 4-5 (3-3 NE10).
 
How it Happened
  • Caity Hazley netted the opening goal for the gray and crimson in the 10th minute of action.
  • Sophomore Dayanna Ortiz-More had a shot saved by the Ravens goalie Zoe Noorlag.
  • Junior Kassandra Sakhat made her first defensive save of the season to keep the home team off the board in the third quarter.
  • Sakhat attempted to even the scoring in the 53rd minute, but Zoorlag's save secured Franklin Pierce's 1-0 victory.
Top Performances
  • Junior Kelsey Price made nine saves.
  • Sakhat tallied two shots on goal.
  • Junior Devin Harkins and Ortiz-More each took one shot a piece.

The Lions are back in Cedar Creek Park on Friday (Oct. 6) at 4:00 p.m. where they will host American International College.
