Seaford, N.Y. - It took nearly 72 minutes of game time to decide a winner in today's field hockey contest against the Saint Thomas Aquinas Spartans from Cedar Creek Park, but a penalty stroke goal from Nicola Van Vuuren decided the contest in favor of the visitors. STAC improved to 4-13 on the season and 4-8 in Northeast-10 Conference play while Molloy ended the season at 0-18 (0-13 NE10).

How it Happened

  • STAC would cut the lead in half five minutes into the second quarter as Madelyn Verstraten batted in a touch from Adriana Alfisi.
  • The game was knotted at two in the final second of the first half as Alfisi scored on a penalty stroke.
  • Junior goalie Kelsey Price would make two saves in the third quarter to keep the Spartans off the board.
